Political sites are buzzing about items by George Will and Max Boot (who ever that is) calling for Democratic takeover of both houses in November. The general idea being that the GOP must be destroyed so that it can be rebuild “properly”.
It isn’t clear to me, to whom this line of reasoning is designed to appeal to beyond the people who hate Trump so much they are blind to reality. You can only speculate as to what will or will not happen to the GOP should they lose in November. However, it is obvious that when the Democrats return to power they will pursue Democrat policies.
Democrats have not been shy about what their plans are, should they regain control of Congress:
Raise taxes – as soon as the tax cuts passed, leading Democrats began pushing for higher taxes.
Gun control – if they had the votes to repeal the 2nd Amendment they would.
A $15 minimum wage – cities that have tried this have “unexpectedly” experienced increased unemployment.
End immigration enforcement – including abolishing ICE. The Center for Immigration Studies has said that there are approximately 200 million people south of the border with the desire and means to come to the US. Open borders will fundamentally transform the US beyond recognition.
Universal single-payer health care – better understood as socialized medicine.
Impeachment – in the absence of any actual crimes, impeaching Trump would rip the country apart.
The list of major policy changes is long – reducing 1st Amendment protections for conservatives and Christians, pro-Iranian/anti-American foreign policy, loading the Supreme Court with progressives, giving tens of millions of illegal immigrants the vote, permanent progressive control of public institutions, a federal job guarantee, etc.
This list is just the beginning of the Democrat agenda. Like spoiled children, as soon as they get what they want, the Democrats will demand more.
Democratic National Committee (DNC) chairman Tom Perez said the 28-year-old socialist (Ocasio-Cortez) “represents the future of our party”.
What Perez didn’t mention is that the group behind “the future” of the Democratic Party is teeming with radicals openly dedicated to dismantling and overturning the economic and social foundations of the United States.
Ocasio-Cortez is a dues-paying member of the DSA’s New York City arm, which demanded an end to national borders and private profit during a June 29 march — just three days after her victory.
Perhaps the biggest problem with undermining the Republicans in this environment is that a vote for the Democrats is a vote in favor of more political violence. Maxine Waters’ inciting mob violence against sitting Trump cabinet members can be expected to escalate should the Democrats make any gains in November.
